FARGO, N.D. (October 8, 2025) — Border States has promoted four of its employee-owners into new vice president roles. This shift represents a strategic step forward for the company, with each new vice president role focused on a critical area of the business.

Nick Longfors – VP Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis

Longfors has been a Border States employee-owner since 2002, when he started as a Finance Intern. Throughout his two decades with the company, he’s held roles in Finance and Operations and has distinguished himself as a strategic leader.

“I believe deeply in our ownership culture and the extra effort it brings to everything we do,” Longfors said. “There is no better company than Border States, and I am honored to be able to apply my talents here in a new way.”

Cedrick Phillips – VP Services

Phillips has been with Border States since 2012, initially joining the company as a member of Border States’ Distribution Leadership Trainee Program. Since then, he’s served in Operations, Warehouse and Branch Management roles before assuming his most current role of Director of Services in 2022.

“Border States’ Services set us apart, allowing us to deepen our impact across the organization and strengthen cross-functional partnerships to deliver meaningful solutions to our customers,” Phillips said. “I’m extremely proud of the team, the progress we’ve made together, and I’m energized by what’s ahead.”

Tom Roehrich – VP Category Management

Roehrich joined Border States in 2018 as a Strategic Pricing Manager, and his most recent role was Senior Director of Category Management. His background also includes experience in sales, supply chain and strategic sourcing.

“I am excited for the progress made in the Category Department and the clear vision that has developed over the last couple years,” Roehrich said. “This group is doing outstanding work, and I’m humbled at the opportunity to lead and excited to continue moving through our roadmap focused on vendor engagement that truly moves us forward.”

Lori Schramm – VP Finance, Corporate Controller

Schramm has been with Border States with 2021 as Director of Finance – Corporate Controller. Her previous experience also includes leadership roles in finance and public accounting work, and she brings that track record of success with her to her new role.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to continue serving our incredible teams,” Schramm said. “I’m deeply committed to fostering an environment where our people can thrive, grow in their careers and feel empowered as we partner together on this journey. This next chapter is about building on our strong foundation, driving meaningful change and celebrating the success we create — together.”
