January 17: President Trump announced an additional 10% tariff on imports from North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and the United Kingdom, starting on Sunday, February 1. The rates will increase to 25% on Monday, June 1, and will continue to rise until a deal is reached for the United States to purchase Greenland.
