A large South Carolina solar farm was recently completed with the help of Border States job site services and solutions.
SCE&G’s 2.03 megawatt (MWDC) Otarre solar facility, completed this fall in the development corridor of Cayce, SC, sits adjacent to the corporate campus of SCANA Corporation, the utility’s parent company. The project is expected to add enough energy to SCE&G’s system to power more than 300 homes.

The facility significantly bolsters SCE&G’s clean energy initiatives, while still allowing the utility to provide safe, affordable and reliable power to its customers. It’s also helping SCE&G exceed its goal of generating at least 42 MW of utility-scale solar energy by 2020.
Border States instrumental in large South Carolina solar farm
Jack Brandon serves as Lead Engineer for Hannah Solar Government Services, one of the main partners that helped engineer, design and build the Otarre solar facility. He says Border States provided time- and money-saving services and solutions that made the project a success.
“We completed testing with the utility to begin exporting power,” Brandon says. “I really appreciate how much Border States helped us through this project, which is another big win.”
