Heineken Electric Wears Pink for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Heineken Electric employees in Kansas show their support for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month at their kickoff party Oct. 2.

Heineken Electric employees are showing their support for breast cancer awareness by committing to wearing pink hard hats throughout the month of October.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and 3M is once again making pink hard hats available for those who want to show their support of the cause.

“We have several women working for us and realize that breast health is very important, so we chose to participate in the ‘pink’ month,” said Kari Boeckman, operations manager at Heineken Electric.

On Oct. 2, Heineken Electric, with locations in Beloit, Salina and Manhattan in Kansas, hosted a kickoff party to show its support for breast cancer awareness.

Heineken worked with Border States Electric to purchase 40 pink hard hats for workers, although 42 employees attended the voluntary event. Employees agreed to wear the hard hat all month or donate $20 to cancer research.

Also at the event, 3M hosted a training workshop on firestop materials, followed by a taco bar lunch, which took place at a local park.
