Renewable Energy and Infrastructure

Experience comprehensive service and material management solutions for your utility scale renewable energy projects by connecting with Border States’ Grid Solutions team. We add value by engaging our professional project management team early in the design phase of your project and supporting you continuously through the construction and closeout phases.

We are a team of supply chain professionals who pride ourselves on managing the most efficient and predictable method to supply material to your project site. Whether it’s using our vast network of locations to stage and store material or working with our diverse vendor base to manage lead times, we deliver your materials on time, in full, to meet your construction schedule.

Our services include:

  • Conducting a thorough material takeoff to develop a bill of material.
  • Working with you and our vendors on submittals and approvals.
  • Coordinating delivery to the job site.

To secure the best cost for your projects, we rely heavily on our reputation in the utility market. Our team can also support your site’s material needs by deploying remote inventory solutions or providing an on-site material management employee-owner.

We provide engineering support to identify alternate material options that fit within your project timeline — ensuring compatibility of designs and on-site application support — and pride ourselves on having a highly technical team. Our 16 Project Managers, half of whom hold engineering degrees, boast over 200 years of industry experience. With a total of over 40 dedicated professionals, we are committed to providing you with expertise and innovative solutions.

From balance of systems to high-voltage applications for substation and transmission lines, we offer a broad range of solutions that provide a one-stop approach for your project.

Services

Preconstruction:

In the initial planning phase of your project, we work with you to ensure material and pricing compatibility and accuracy.

We also provide complete bid packages, including:
  • Bill of material
  • Estimated costs
  • Suggestions for alternates
  • Delivery schedules

During this phase, our experts will help you find cost-reduction opportunities and solutions to the challenges of remote asset management to ensure your project’s success.

Staging and kitting:

Minimize job site damage and reduce shrinkage by using our job site material staging capabilities. We can simplify your on-site work by providing material staging and kitting and delivering materials based on your work schedule and project plan, helping keep your project on budget and on time.

Job site/project management trailers:

We can package the materials required for your project and deliver a fully stocked trailer directly to the job site — right where you want it. Our trailers include GPS tracking capabilities and are well lit with sturdy shelving to help keep material organized, and your work crews can stay focused on completing the job; they’re not pulled away to locate, receive or put away material.

Project closeout:

At the end of the project, we want to ensure our team delivered on what we promised and met your expectations for material management during each phase of the project. We assist in closing all steps to complete your project, which includes providing a material report, coordinating returns and conducting a “lessons learned” review for materials.
