Fluke Connect App: Stay in Contact Without Leaving the Field

Electricians, field technicians and industrial professionals need top technology to gain accurate measurements, evaluate systems, move projects along and stay connected to their teams. In the past, all of these actions were slowed by the equipment and technology available. Professionals may have taken voltage, current, temperature and vibration readings with a precise instrument, but records were written down, trends were recognized only after manual calculations and communication occurred when team members could get to a phone.

The days of these time-consuming processes are over. The Fluke Connect app offers electricians a streamlined tool with storage, record and sharing features.

What is Fluke Connect?

Fluke Connect is a free app that currently syncs with more than 20 Fluke tools, including multimeters, temperature modules, vibration meters, thermal imaging cameras and more. It enables professionals to take accurate measurements and store up to 5 gigabytes of that data. Within the app, electricians can generate reports, create graphs and instantly share information with their coworkers.

How Does the App Work?

Fluke Connect uses Bluetooth and Wi-fi to sync a mobile device with the relevant tools, and it’s available for iPhone and iPads running iOS7 or higher, the HTC One, HTC ONE M8, LG G3, Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5. Through this connectivity, the app can receive information from up to 10 Fluke tools within 65 feet of the mobile device at once. If users rely on Wi-fi, they’re unlikely to increase their data usage but will use more data if they rely on their cellular network. To ensure this doesn’t happen, Fluke recommends professionals put their phones on airplane mode then enable the Wi-fi.

How Fluke Connect Solves Common Problems:

  • Tracking multiple measurements generated by one tool: Fluke Connect auto-records measurements and allows professionals to organize these figures by asset in the EquipmentLog history. This automatic features gets rid of the need to manually record measurements on site then enter these numbers into a spreadsheet or program back at the office.
  • Retrieving various measurements quickly: The Equipment Log feature enables electricians to view all measurements for a specific tool on one screen. This way, different metrics such as temperature, vibrations and electrical are all together and easily viewable.
  • Preventing the loss of information and duplicate work: Not only does Fluke Connect auto-record measurements and allow professionals to view these figures in one place, but it also backs up this data to the cloud. This reduce the risk of electricians losing information, and also if their phone dies or breaks, the information is still safe.
  • Monitoring changes in a system: Because Fluke Connect gathers and organizes data, it can easily provide graphs that show the changes within a system. The TrendIt graphs help professionals see system behavior over time and diagnose problems.
  • Sharing information across locations: Fluke Connect enables professionals to stream data to coworkers’ phones or even video chat with ShareLive. The increased connectivity boosts collaboration and keeps everyone on a project up to date.
