Smart Navigator LM Overhead Faulted Circuit Indicator

The Smart Navigator LM Faulted Circuit Indicator is designed
and engineered for overhead Smart Grid Distribution
Automation applications. The Smart Navigator LM is installed
on overhead distribution circuits up to 46kV and transmits event
based fault status information in addition to continuous circuit
data.
The Smart Navigator LM FCI can be integrated into an existing
Smart Grid system and operate in different communication
environments such as cellular, SCADA or radio. The PDP DNP
Receiver, which can be mounted on a pole or within other
SCADA equipment (e.g. motor operated switches or RTUs),
collects and manages all Smart Navigator LM data as an access
point into a communication environment.
Automatic Load Leveling with Load Memory enables the unit to
automatically set its fault trip threshold in relation to peak load
current. When fault current exceeds trip rating, the Smart
Navigator LM FCI sends a signal to the DNP Receiver or Smart
Controller for near real time status reporting.
In addition to identifying fault status through the communication
network, local indication is provided by a blinking bright red
LED. Several combinations of reset methods are available
including current, time, and manual. In addition to event based
fault identification, the Smart Navigator LM FCI also can
communicate fault data, load current, and status data.
